Overview

The Communication Plan ensures that all stakeholders at Nissan North America (NNA) are informed, engaged, and aligned with data governance initiatives.
Effective communication drives adoption, compliance, and collaboration across business units, regions, and technology teams.


Purpose

  • Provide consistent, clear, and timely communication about governance objectives, policies, and progress.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Support training, change management, and awareness campaigns.
  • Facilitate feedback collection for continuous improvement of governance processes.

Key Principles

  1. Audience-Centric: Tailor messages to roles and responsibilities (e.g., executives, data stewards, IT teams, business users).
  2. Consistency: Use standardized templates, channels, and terminology to reduce confusion.
  3. Transparency: Share progress, challenges, and successes openly.
  4. Frequency & Cadence: Communicate regularly according to governance milestones and reporting cycles.
  5. Feedback-Driven: Encourage two-way communication to identify issues, gaps, and improvement opportunities.

  1. Governance Launch Announcements: Introduce the governance framework, objectives, and roles.

  3. Training & Awareness Campaigns: Promote role-specific training, MDM usage, and catalog adoption.
  4. Change Notifications: Communicate updates to policies, SOPs, and tools.
  5. Feedback Collection: Conduct surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gather input.
  6. Celebrating Successes: Highlight improvements, data quality wins, and adoption achievements.
