Overview¶
The Business Glossary provides a standardized reference for terminology, definitions, and business rules used across Nissan North America (NNA).
It ensures consistent understanding, communication, and usage of data across domains, systems, and business units.
The glossary complements the Data Inventory, Classification, and Data Catalog, enabling clear data governance and decision-making.
Purpose¶
- Standardize business terms and definitions across the enterprise.
- Reduce ambiguity and misinterpretation in data usage.
- Support data quality, reporting, and analytics by providing authoritative definitions.
- Facilitate cross-domain collaboration and governance enforcement.

- Assign Ownership & Stewardship: Determine who is accountable for accuracy and maintenance.
- Review & Approve: Validate definitions with business and governance councils.
- Publish & Maintain: Make glossary accessible in a central repository and update regularly.
